Nicole Piunno

Dr. Piunno is currently an adjunct professor at Capital University and has a private studio comprised of students from school districts throughout the central Ohio area. She suffered an injury to her orbicularis oris in 2007.  After completing a semester at the University of Michigan where she was pursuing an MM in trumpet performance, she left to have embouchure surgery.  Dr. Piunno relearned to play the trumpet after surgery and now enjoys teaching and sharing her experience with others. She gained a deeper understanding of fundamentals and proper playing technique while learning to play the instrument for a second time. For this reason, she enjoys working with young brass players and helping them discover proper playing mechanics on the instrument.
